Planning for Digital Resilience is Important

Arabian Reseller | April 28, 2018

Mike Lloyd, the Chief Technology Officer at RedSeal, speaks to Arabian Reseller about the emerging risks in the region and what CXOs need to know about mitigating those risks.

What according to you are the new potential threats and emerging risks in this part of the region?

Reacting to every new threat as it comes along creates an endless treadmill.  It makes more sense to plan for digital resilience – understand your organization by mapping it out so that you can offer an agile response to every new attack. Static defenses are ineffective, but chasing whatever’s trending is equally bad – the goal is flexible, rapid response.

IRS Website Crash Reminder of HealthCare.gov Debacle as OMB Pushes Open Source

FEDWeek | April 20, 2018

Every filing season is a crush for the IRS but this year’s had the added challenge of changes due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act signed in December – and increasing e-file returns via integrations with vendors such as TurboTax and H&R Block, along with continued declines in operating budget and personnel. It all culminated on Tax Day when the IRS’s processing systems crashed. The error displayed on its website summed it up: “Planed Outage: April 17, 2018 – December 9999.”

Avoiding Storms While Transitioning to the Cloud

SIGNAL Magazine | April 9, 2018

By Wayne Lloyd, RedSeal Federal CTO

From an industry perspective there are many advantages to moving aspects of any organization to the cloud. In theory, cloud is more efficient and easier to manage, but organizations like the Defense Department need to make sure they are not bringing along their bad habits and old baggage with them. Legacy networks are hard to understand and have grown out of control in the last few decades. Cloud is as complex as legacy networks, but the difference is who or what is really maintaining them.

Video: American Dreams – Ray Rothrock and Digital Resilience

American Dreams | April 5, 2018

By Ray Rothrock, Chief Executive Officer

No one is immune to hacking- including systems not connected to the internet. No matter how much budget to pour into cyber security, its only a matter of time until your company is hacked. This is a principle that we’ve seen emerging in recent years. How should companies respond when they are under attack? How can they mitigate the damage and protect their most sensitive information?

Ray Rothrock is a veteran in the cyber industry and emphasizes in his new book, Digital Resilience, that it’s not enough for a company to have heavy barriers of defense- the hackers will still get inside, what companies need to focus on today is resilience.

Using Pizza To Understand The Cloud

Forbes | April 4, 2018

By Dr. Mike Lloyd, RedSeal CTO

It’s a tech evangelist’s worst nightmare. I was forced to explain something complex to a non-technical audience who would rather be doing almost anything else. I found myself in front of a sales force while they were in a vacation mood — possibly involving alcohol. We reward our sales overachievers with a vacation. It’s mostly focused on celebrating their success, but with some light company business thrown in. I was the speaker for a late afternoon session, on the topic of the cloud — and the next item on the agenda was the bar.

My assigned topic was cloud networks — a topic familiar to all, but still fuzzy, just like real clouds. It’s been several years since the famed survey that showed people thought bad weather was a problem for cloud computing.

We are pleased to present our 2018 PPG list, recognizing the strongest and most successful partner programs in the channel today.”

“Channel partners are an important part of our international growth and sales strategy,” said Marc Fernandez, vice president of worldwide commercial channels, at RedSeal. “So, it’s imperative to provide them with the resources they need to be successful. To this end, we have assembled a responsive team, a comprehensive program, and a compelling opportunity to add value to their customers and their bottom line.”
